CHESTNUT STAKES

  • Rich in tannins

  • Natural durability

  • Made in France

The abundance of chestnut tannins (6% in the bark and 13% in the wood) gives the wood remarkable resistance to outdoor decay, microbes, and insects, due to their resistant nature and richness. Additionally, they are not easily washed out by rain through the heart of the wood.  The scarcity of sapwood and excess of tannins make chestnut wood suitable for structural timber, without any need for chemical treatments as a preventive measure.
